AI Systems for Industrial Companies

AI Systems forIndustrial Companies.

I build working AI systems for Northern Ontario contractors, fabricators and manufacturers: the lead that gets answered at 9 pm, the quote that takes an hour instead of three days, the numbers you can read on the first of the month instead of the fifteenth.

This is for owner-operators running $2M to $50M businesses who have a process worth improving and data worth using. It is not AI for its own sake. If a spreadsheet and a phone call already work, I will tell you that on the first call.

North Bay based · Eligible work is 50% fundable under Ignite AI

The Problem

Three Places the Day Leaks.

Every industrial company I work with loses time in the same three places. None of them are a people problem.

Leak 01

Leads Arrive as a Name and a Number

The enquiry says almost nothing. Someone has to call back and ask what the buyer wants to build, how big, on whose land and when, before anyone knows whether it is a real project. Evening and weekend enquiries wait until morning, and by then a competitor has answered.

Leak 02

Quotes Take Days

The estimate sits behind one person who already has a full week. The buyer who wanted a number on Tuesday gets it on Friday, if they are still waiting. The work is not hard, it is just queued behind everything else.

Leak 03

Nobody Knows What the Numbers Mean Until Month End

Job data is in one system, leads in another, ad spend in a third. By the time anyone assembles a picture, the month is over and the decision it would have changed has already been made.

What I Build

Five Systems That Earn Their Keep.

Each one is a fixed-scope project. The tag under each is the Ignite AI eligible-project category it falls under, in IION's own wording, so you can see how the work maps to the funding before you apply.

01

Lead Intake and Follow-Up

A website assistant that answers buyer questions and asks the qualifying ones back, writes the lead into your CRM with consent recorded, follows up by SMS, and texts back missed calls. The first conversation happens whether or not anyone is at a desk.

Ignite AI category: Marketing automation. Chatbot as part of a sales or customer funnel.

02

Quoting and Estimating Assistant

Specs or photos go in, a draft estimate comes out of your own price book. A person reviews and adjusts every quote before it goes to the customer. It removes the blank page, not the estimator.

Ignite AI category: Integration of AI software into an existing product or service.

03

Operating Dashboard with AI Summaries

Jobs, CRM, ad platforms and analytics in one place, with a monthly operating review written in plain language and alerts when a number moves in a way it should not. You stop waiting for month end to find out.

Ignite AI category: AI tools to improve internal operations, efficiency and decision making.

04

Back-Office Document Automation

Invoice and purchase order extraction, reports drafted from structured inputs, scheduling that stops living in one person’s head. The paperwork that eats an admin day a week.

Ignite AI category: AI-driven process automation.

05

Product Visualization

Configurator-to-render pipelines for manufacturers and builders, so a buyer sees their building, their layout or their finish instead of a generic photo of someone else’s job.

Ignite AI category: AI-enabled prototypes and solutions.

AI Lead Intake & SMS Qualification

Enquiries used to land in Zoho CRM as a name and a phone number, and someone had to call back before anyone knew whether it was a real project. Now an assistant on the website asks the qualifying questions, an SMS conversation confirms the details, and the lead arrives with structure type, size, timeline and consent to contact already on the record.

The first call starts with what the buyer wants to build instead of who they are.

Monthly Review, Written by the System

Jobs, CRM, ad platforms and analytics pulled into one view, with a monthly operating review written in plain language and sent to the owner. Clients on the Growth Engine plan get this today. It is the same pipeline I build as a standalone implementation.

The Process

From First Call to Handover.

Five steps, in this order. The middle three line up with how the Ignite AI program works, so funding and delivery run on the same track.

01

Fit Call

Twenty minutes, free. You tell me where the day leaks. I tell you whether AI is the answer, whether your data is ready, and whether the project is likely to fit a funding stream. If the honest answer is "fix the website first", you get that answer.

02

Scoping

Six to eight weeks. I map sales, quoting, scheduling and reporting, review what your data can actually support, score four or five use cases by payoff versus effort, and hand you a roadmap and an implementation quote. Designed to fit the Catalyst advisory stream.

03

Quote and Application

You take the implementation quote into your grant application. I supply what a vendor is supposed to supply: scope, price, timeline and category. IION decides. Applications go in before costs are incurred, so this step happens before I start building.

04

Build Inside Six Months

Fixed scope, fixed price, delivered inside the grant completion window. You see working pieces as they go in rather than a reveal at the end, and anything a customer will see gets a human review before it goes live.

05

Handover and Training

Accounts in your name, documentation of what the system does and where the data goes, and a session with the people who use it daily. You own it. Keeping me on afterward is a separate decision.

Investment

Two Ways to Start.

Both prices are published. Both are fixed scope. Third-party model and software costs pass through at cost, in your accounts, with no markup from me.

Funding

Half the Bill, in Plain Numbers.

Ignite AI is run by IION for for-profit companies registered in Nipissing, Timiskaming, Parry Sound and Muskoka. If your company and your project are eligible, the math is simple.

A $40,000 implementation

costs you $20,000

You pay the invoice in full, then claim 50% back up to $20,000.

A $10,000 scoping engagement

costs you $0

The Catalyst advisory stream reimburses up to $10,000 after completion.

HST

paid up front

You pay it with the invoice and recover it as an input tax credit.

Eligibility is IION's call, not mine. Intakes are reviewed monthly and the program rules change, so confirm current details directly with IION. I wrote a plain-language walkthrough of what the program covers, who qualifies and how the process runs.

How I Work With AI

Rules I Do Not Bend.

A Person Reviews What Your Customer Sees

Drafts, estimates and summaries get human review before they leave your business. The system removes the blank page and the waiting. It does not get the last word.

You Own the System and the Data

Code, prompts, configuration and accounts are yours, in your name wherever the provider allows it. No licence fee to keep using what I built, no hostage situation if you want to take it elsewhere.

Model Costs Pass Through at Cost

Third-party model and software costs are billed to you at what they cost, on your own accounts where possible. You can see the meter. I do not resell tokens.

The Data Flow Is Written Down

What is collected, which provider processes it, where it is stored and how long it is kept, documented and handed over. I have written AI-use and data-flow documentation for SaaS clients and I do the same on every implementation.

Honest Filter

Three Reasons to Call Someone Else.

You Need a Large Systems Integrator

If you are outside Northern Ontario and the job needs a team, a procurement process and an account manager, I am the wrong size. I build for owner-operators who want to talk to the person doing the work.

You Want AI to Replace Your People

I build systems that make a small team faster, not smaller. If the goal is a headcount reduction, we will disagree in week one and you will have paid for the argument.

You Have No Data and No Process Yet

AI needs something to work with. If leads are not tracked, prices are not written down and the website does not answer questions, start there. It is cheaper, it works, and it is the foundation the AI needs anyway.

Not sure which of these is you? Start with the website work and we will talk about AI when there is something to automate.

Common Questions

Straight Answers.

Is There Anything Here Worth Automating?

Twenty minutes on the phone is usually enough to know. I will tell you what I would build, roughly what it costs, and whether it looks fundable. If the answer is nothing, you get that answer too.
